About Fidel Puzzle
Players arrange scrambled Ethiopic characters in the correct order within their vowel row. Each consonant in Ethiopic script has seven forms corresponding to seven vowel orders, and knowing the sequence of these orders is fundamental to navigating any Ethiopic keyboard, dictionary, or reference table. The sliding puzzle format turns what would otherwise be rote memorisation into an engaging spatial challenge that rewards thinking ahead.
A 3x3 grid of shuffled characters is presented and you slide tiles into the correct vowel order using the single empty slot. Completing a puzzle advances to a new consonant family. The seven-order sequence becomes automatic with practice. This game is the ideal companion to the Amharic keyboard tool on this site. Once you know the vowel order, using any Ethiopic keyboard feels natural. Move count and time are tracked so you can improve your efficiency across sessions.
