About the Afaan Oromoo Text Tools
An Oromo-language editor building a glossary needs to remove duplicate entries without losing hours to manual checking. A translator working on a long document needs to know exactly how many words they have processed. A developer cleaning a dataset of Oromo text needs to sort lines consistently so that the Qubee alphabet's long vowels (aa, ee, ii) fall in the right positions rather than wherever the sort algorithm guesses. These five text utilities were put together for exactly these kinds of tasks.
Afaan Oromoo has over 40 million speakers and is the most widely spoken Cushitic language in the world. Since the Qubee alphabet was officially adopted in 1991, the language has expanded rapidly into digital media, government administration, and education. That growth created demand for practical tools that understand how Qubee works: long vowels written as digraphs, sounds represented by two-letter combinations, and an ordering that differs from a simple ASCII sort. Generic text tools often get these details wrong.
The word counter handles Qubee text boundaries correctly and gives you words, characters, and sentence counts at once. The alphabetical sort orders your lines according to Qubee conventions. The case converter switches text between uppercase and lowercase. The duplicate remover strips repeated lines from lists, and find-and-replace lets you update terms across a document in a single step.
All processing happens entirely in your browser. No text leaves your device, and no account or installation is required. If you need to type Afaan Oromoo text rather than process it, the Oromo keyboard tool on this site is the right starting point.
